Vaiswanara Chooranam is carminative, digestive and mildly laxative. Loss of appetite, dyspepsia indigestion, flatulence and burning sensation in the stomach. It may be taken thrice a day mixing 1 or 2 grams with water or buttermilk.

Yashti Chooranam is used for sore throat and relieves cough and bronchitis. The dosage is 1 or 2 grams a day mixed with honey and taken on an empty stomach.

Yelaathi Chooranam (Siddha) is good in abscesses, ulcers, leprosy, metrorrhagia, dysmenorrhoea and tuberculosis. It may also be taken for insect stings. The dose is 1 to 2 grams with honey twice a day, before or after food.
